Working in graphite, charcoal, oils, and select digital methods, every commission is tailored to the subject and refined through a disciplined process developed through focused study and experience. The result is a portrait that feels grounded, honest, and enduring.
Pricing starts at $300, with final cost varying based on medium, size, level of detail, and overall complexity. Each commission includes direct communication throughout the process to ensure clarity, quality, and a finished piece that reflects the Lionheart Art standard.

Figure drawing sessions are structured, one-on-one studies focused on gesture, proportion, anatomy, and overall form. Each session is tailored to your skill level and goals, with an emphasis on building a strong understanding of the human figure through clear, efficient drawing methods.
Sessions are booked by time and typically range from one to two hours. Pricing reflects session length and instructional depth, with one-hour sessions starting at $150 and extended sessions available for more in-depth study and refinement. Custom session lengths may be arranged upon consultation.

In hindsight, this piece would benefit from stronger contrast—pushing the darks deeper and the highlights lighter—to increase depth and clarity. I would also soften and simplify the handle, removing the harder lines to achieve a more natural, unified shape.

With more time, I would have refined the jawline, adjusted the mouth alignment, and pushed the value contrast to strengthen depth and realism.

Looking back, I could have pushed the ear placement, jaw flow, and overall value separation a bit further, but this study played an important role in sharpening my foundational understanding of profile construction.

PORTRAIT STUDY (SEPTEMBER 30, 2024) A portrait study focused on facial structure, proportion, and feature placement. The goal was to capture likeness while maintaining simple forms and clear construction. Looking back, I placed greater emphasis on detail than necessary, whereas value relationships and form are what truly create depth and believability. While there are areas that could be refined further, this study played an important role in developing my understanding of observation, portrait construction, and the importance of seeing the larger shapes before the smaller details.
